1. How does LynxTel operate?
Step 1: Dial one of our access numbers such as 9912345678 from your mobile using your cap plan minutes.
Step 2: Follow the instructions, dial 0011 followed by the country code and the number you are wanting to call.
Step 3: Dial # at the end of the call if you wish to make another.
2. Can Optus Cap or Timeless Plan be used to call LynxTel?
For customers on an Optus Cap or Timeless Plan, Optus has stated that it will charge you for this call as an International call. Optus has stated that it will not regard this call as being part of your included value on your Optus Cap or Timeless Plan.
3. Is this service actually free, where’s the catch?
Yes LynxTel provides International calling for free, however you are responsible for the local log of the call i.e. the cost of the call from your mobile phone or landline to our gateway Access Numbers.
4. Are your access numbers premium numbers?
No. Our access numbers are normal Australian mobile numbers. You will only be charged for a local mobile call charge by your provider. You will never receive a bill from us.
5. What mobile network is your access number using?
Our access number is not part of any major network. Because of this, you cannot use any Free minutes among the same network as our mobile access number does not belong to any network as such.
6. Can I use network minutes to call your access number?
Same network minutes such as Optus to Optus, 3 to 3, or Vodafone to Vodafone cannot be used for calling our mobile access number.
7. Do any personal information or enter any pin codes need to be entered?
No. You do not need to create an account or provide us with any of your personal information or enter any pin codes. To use our service simply dial one of our Access Numbers and get connected to your loved ones. It's a simple and easy to get started.
8. Can I use a landline?
Yes, landline's can be used also.
9. Can a computer or soft phone be used to call?
A computer or soft phone to dial our access number. Our service works best with a mobile cap plan.
10. How does the system operate?
We have developed a VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network that allows you to place internet calls from your mobile phone instead of through your computer.
When you dial the access numbers above, you are connecting to LynxTel's Voice over IP International Gateway. From there your call is placed over the internet in the same way as Skype and other VOIP software. When your call reaches the country you are dialling, we convert it back over to the local phone system, it rings the dialled number just like a regular phone call. It is an easy service to use. 11. Why don't you allow calls to be made to to ALL countries and networks globally?
Some countries and networks are too expensive to provide access to unfortunately, however we are constantly working on new plans to cater for the rest of the locations around the world.
12. Do I get a bill from LynxTel?
No, you will never get a bill from us. You receive the bill from your own telecom provider.
13. Where do I sign up?
There is no sign up. We offer an instant dialling service. Simply dial one of our Access Numbers and get connected to your friends and family.
